I have a Bachelor's degree in Creative Writing and Teaching English as a Foreign Language from University of Wisconsin--Eau Claire. At UWEC I received the Tillie Olsen Award and Scholarship for my "outstanding fiction...submission," and I also spent one year as a teacher's assistant in college-level English classrooms. I spent a year in Wuhan, China, teaching English at Wuhan University of Science and Engineering, where my command over the English language was continually challenged and strengthened.
I truly appreciate the variety of manuscripts and projects that show up on my desk. I have edited a number of young adult and adult fiction novels, as well as blog entries and master's level research papers. I am working with clients who are utilizing my editing services for their weekly or monthly publications. I am the sole editor of an anthology that was published by Northwestern Publishing House in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. My current projects include a children's book and two novels with the goal of publication by mid-2018. I do not limit myself to working with specific genres. I embrace the exploration of new avenues of editing.
Getting to know my clients is the best aspect of my job. In fact, I think this is crucial to my performance as an editor. My goal is not to make every piece of literature sound like me. I believe that each page that you send me is important, valid, and deserves to be understood. I'm here to hear you, learn your style, know your goals, and help you to develop something that is the best version of itself. Along the way, I remain achingly precise in all things grammar, and I leave no stone unturned in my analysis of the manuscript in front of me.
I care about the work I receive. I want you to succeed.
